ACI Costa Rica also offers the opportunity to travel to United Kingdom by the CSV (Community Service Volunteers) Organization. This is an English voluntary organization, which locates voluntary young people in social and communitary projects in the United Kingdom.

Advantages to travel with CSV

• It is possible to travel per periods of 6 to 12 months, initiating the exchange in the most convenient date.
• You live in the work place, either alone or sharing with other young interchanges. The CSV finances the lodging and the feeding; in addition, it offers monthly pocket money to cover basic needs.
• The interchanges work full time in social projects and of communitarian aid of the CSV. This can be in schedule normal, nocturnal or weekends.
• All the exchanges have one week of paid vacations, for every four month they have worked with CSV.
• Each exchange has a supervisor in its work and counts with the support of a member of the CSV that makes sure the best development of the voluntary work and the experience of the cultural exchange.
  

Requirements to travel by the CSV

• Skills on conversational English, intermediate level.
• Participate in a selection and preparation process. This includes an interview that a representative of the CSV (who will travel to Costa Rica) will make in Costa Rica to evaluate the English level of the applicant and knowing his preferences of voluntary work. Before the Interview, you must pay a Fee of US$ 250 to guarantee your Interview place as there are 15 places available. If you don't pass the Interview, the Fee will be reimbursed. If you do pass the Interview, the Fee will be deducted of the Program Fee you have to pay.
• Pay the participation quota. Which includes air ticket (roundtrip), feeding and lodging, life insurance, medical insurance and of damages to third people, monthly Pocket Money and the endorsement of CSV.
• Give a host family in Costa Rica for the time that the exchange last.
• To be between 20 and 30 years old (Exceptions can be made upon request).
• Once the participants are selected, it is signed a legal contract, where the rights of the participant by the amount paid are stipulated. Also, the payment dates are defined.
• The amount by the exchange, can be paid by one single payment or can be paid in monthly payments. The Participation Fee has to be paid before the Applicant leaves the Country.
• Participants applying for the CSV Program must be Mature, Tolerant and be aware, that this Exchange is not a Tourist Visit to UK.
