THE SOCIO CAMPS

ACI created 2 years ago the program named SOCIO CAMPS, designed also to receive volunteers for short periods of time (two weeks, one, two, three or four months). Same as above, we work with:

Volunteers coming with the Socio Camps program come to work in social projects like Homeless children centres, elderly people homes, hospitals, cultural houses, sport centres, indigenous projects, people with disabilities sites, etc. where we offer a wide range of different experiences: from creating and maintaining buildings, to help in educational and rehabilitation processes. From teaching English to local people to play games with homeless children.

We offer all these projects and much more besides.... Working hours are generally Monday to Friday, depending on the specific project, accommodation will always be with host-families located closed to the work project. Please note that specific details such as work hours, type of work, living arrangements etc, can only be determined depending on the project. As an aside to our Social projects, we can also offer Spanish language courses in selected schools around the country; in the beach resort of Jacó, for example, or right here in San José.

Socio Camps is a program created for:

*people interested to do voluntary service in social projects.

*people who can not come to Costa Rica for a long time (like a year)

*people who can choose when to come to Costa Rica and for how long.

*people to choose the amount of money to spend, depending on how long will the stay be.

*people who will be travelling mostly by themselves.

*people who wants to do a practice because university requirements.

The choice is yours!

Requirements to participate:

*Fill up the application form.

*Send completed flight itinerary (arrival date, time, airline, number of flight)

*Send information about for how long will the stay be. Not longer than 4 months for people between 18 to 35 years old. For older aged people, not longer than 6 months.

*Send information about the field or topic about the social project where he or she wants to do the experience (children, hospital, elderly people, etc).

*Do all the payments for lodging and food, plus the ACI fee.

*Be older than 18 years old, but there is not limit or maximum age.

*Make all the application process and send all the required information to ACI - CR at least one or two months before the arrival date to Costa Rica.
